Summary
Cadence is designed as a local-first study app. It does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs. The current privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected user data.
Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following information locally so that review scheduling and progress tracking work:
- Language, deck, and card progress
- Review history, streaks, and study statistics
- Custom decks and app settings
- Purchase entitlement state needed to unlock premium access
Data We Do Not Collect
Cadence does not collect names, email addresses, location data, device identifiers, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or behavioral analytics. DuttLabs does not operate a Cadence server that receives study data.
Apple Services
Cadence uses Apple system services for core platform behavior:
- App Store: Purchases, subscriptions, trials, billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple.
- Notifications: Optional study reminders are scheduled on the device.
- Speech Recognition and Microphone: Pronunciation practice uses Apple speech frameworks and on-device recognition where supported. Audio is not sent to DuttLabs.
- Text to Speech: Pronunciation playback uses Apple speech synthesis.
- UserDefaults: Preferences and entitlement cache data are stored locally. The privacy manifest declares the required reason API category for this use.
Apple Watch and Widget Data
The iPhone app, watch app, and widget may share local app data through Apple platform containers. This is used to present study state across app surfaces. It is not third-party tracking and is not advertising-related.
Data Deletion
You can delete local data by deleting the app from your device. In-app reset and export tools may also be available depending on your access tier and app version.
Children's Privacy
Cadence does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because study data is stored locally and no analytics SDK is used, DuttLabs does not receive personal child data through Cadence.
Changes
This policy may be updated when features change. Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the app where appropriate.
